 Category Cable
Production of enhanced category cables requires a versatile manufacturing
solution that permits flexibility allowing extrusion of a number
of different Local Area Network (LAN) cable constructions. Royle's
strategy is to minimize the scrap rate, not necessarily to maximize
the production line rates. Another strategy that Royle prefers for
LAN cable production is to maximize production versatility of the
plant. There are a wide variety of LAN constructions involving number
of pairs, riser rated or plenum rated, shielded or unshielded, and
type of shield. These considerations must be designed into the plant
at the time of initial engineering to allow for production flexibility.
Royle's insulating lines are equipped with extruders that allow
skin-foam-skin processing with solid or cellular insulation utilizing
polyolefins or fluoropolymers. Our jacket lines can be configured
with dual takeups or with high-speed in-line packaging machines.
Each system is custom-engineered to suit your production needs.
